PURSUIT
The Pursuit is back…
The Pursuit started life with Hobzee back in the
90's as the Yarraman Midnight Pursuit. It then became the Ramsey
Pursuit, and was later called The Simex Pursuit or "The Simex"
for a number of years with Geoff Mooney. Now Hobzee's back ...
Teams
: Teams of 1 vehicle only. (1 x driver
and 1 x navigator only, no passengers allowed)
How Much
: $255 (inc.GST) per single car team. Maps provided.
Limited entries apply to this event.
All up we envisage the typical car
to be driving for 20 hours. Saturday will begin at 10.30-11am
and run into the night and early hours of the morning.
The driving format will be basic navigation off maps provided.
You will require a GPS where we want you to make a turn at an
unmarked track but otherwise there will be no brain teasing navigation.
There will be no photography. The standard of driving will be
as tough as we can find on public tracks and you can expect all
the nasty ones …. There will be game plans to avoid traffic jams
as much as possible. There are no timed special stages,
however we endeavour to have some optional special stage "routes".
All vehicles need to be road registered as we are using public
roads and all road rules must be followed. This includes no alcohol
and safe driving. Be warned, Navrun own a breathalyser and a radar.
The terrain in this event is tough and the rigs should ideally
be of Winch Challenge or battle truck breed. You must have a powered
winch, aggressive tyres, a GPS, at least 1 diff lock and a UHF
radio as major prerequisites. Upon acceptance letters/emails will
be sent with specific details and a list of minor essentials.
Note that independent suspension and tyres less than 33 inches
are likely to be a disadvantage.
